Simple Syrian citizen point of view
The first Friday (like 4 weeks ago) was the worst especially in my home town lattakia. there was gun shooting and violence in the streets.
The regime acted with the crises from a security not political point of view
It's hard to explain the situation because its complicated although its simple to understand
The elements are :
Dictator regime wearing the dress of the old party and have been spreading the ugliest way of free market policy for the last 10 years, and his point of view is that u can control and lead the population after freeing the markets and maintain the same military and security fist, although it was obvious for all the lefties that its impossible to have liberal economic policy in one hand and maintain the one party policy and dictatorism in the other hand
Corruption had spread and the open market not being monitored and social justice being put in the garbage have led to have an explosive population, although being patriots they r being humiliated from both sides the government and the free markets dealers on a daily bases, while the rich became richer and the middle class started to lose it all
Some of those -middle class citizens- choosed the American point of view some of them like me escaped the economic situation and the country it self out of despair, few remained satisfied without stealing
What started as our main complain turned into hidden agenda for both Syrian -especially out side Syria (USA and France mainly)- and for other countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel and some parts in Lebanon to gain back some balance after loosing Hosni Mubarak regime, and from here all hell breaks loose
Guns in the streets, overseas opposition that have no problem in a civil war or a Libyan scenario, radical Islamic and above all the regime that kept dealing with the situation from his security point of view without having any political over view
If u mix those elements after putting in mind that the regime is afraid of losing the grip over the country u will have explosion content
The president did a horrible mistake after his speech and he lost the support of so many people like me, who already gave there support on a condition of real and immediate change and hoping that democratic life will take place and by time will erase the regime instead of another Libyan scenario
